Okay, I see what you are saying back in Chaper One. But what does that have to do with America, and especially with Christians?
You need to understand just a little about prophecy. Not a lot, but at least some. In the end times the Antichrist will be taking over - plain and simple. Most of the people of this planet will fall under his persuasion. Many will be fooled. He will not have enough power to do anything of his own, but by persuasion, just like in the Garden of Eden.
Take for example, America. And, as Abraham Lincoln said. This nation cannot be beaten by an outside force. If it is to be "destroyed", it will come from within. It would do no good for the Antichrist to have an army against America. We are far too powerful for that to ever happen. Further, that even a military force from within would not be able to overthrow our system of laws, constitution, and government of the people, for a couple reasons. Our biggest power comes from nuclear weapons. These weapons could not be used by some American against other Americans, else the nation would be destroyed in its entirety, leaving no spoils for the victors. In fact, there would be no victors, only total death.
Further, no select military force could do much good trying to take over the general population through non-nuclear weapons. Our constitution took care of that problem. The average citizen of this nation also has small arms. Even without a military (as such) the citizens would most likely prevail simply because they are well suited to "fight back".
Thus, obviously, and prophetically, the Antichrist must begin to rule by persuasion. By trickery and by deceit. Just as Satan has always done.
The persuasion is already being implemented. He must gain control over certain aspects of our society first. These are already under full attack. People are already being greatly deceived.
Schools are a very big issue: Educating the young has always been a significant part of any persuasion, whether for evil or for good. Remember Hitler and his youth programs?

Churches (God): Just as Marx predicted, schools and churches are a big problem for Marxism/Socialism/Communism. Churches (God) is always there to see through the trickery, lies and deceit. They must be either destroyed (as with most Communist attempts) or rendered so weak as to lessen their influence substantially.
Weakening of family values (God again): The general populous must begin to accept more and more evil in our nation. Things like, but not limited to, drugs, crime, abortion, homosexuality, (see below links on homosexuality) and many others. When people start just accepting evil, and compromising their values, the society as a whole becomes much weaker when the real evil steps forward. Please don't forget the ever increasing pornography we are being subjected to, under the guise of "freedom of speech"..

Social Security and Welfare are two very big issues: Control of these two factions are a key. The key being the creation of a "dependent" society. For individual people become not dependent on God, nor on themselves, but on the "state". Just think about that term, if you will: "social security". The state controls your security?
Over taxing is part of this attempt to promote dependency on a nation. Take as much money as possible from the individual people and spend it back on them, but now with total state control.
One last thing which stands out; the Media. If the Antichrist can gain control, or at least a substantial influence, over our system of mass communication, such as radio, television, newspapers, and now the internet, then he has gained significant ground. By far the majority of those already serving in the Television industry - "entertainment" are strong advotates of socialist doctrines.
The Antichrist is battling for control and/or influence in all these areas RIGHT NOW.
Once again, the overall goal is to create a dependent people upon a deceitful state.
Once that is accomplished, the Antichrist can make his big move. To control what is sold and what is bought. Those not accepting his MARK will not be able to do either. There are powers in this world right now which are bringing together these forces, from prophecy to fact.
The question then, should we Christians be concerned?
Yes and No!
Yes, because we still have to live and raise our families in this world until we die, or the Lord comes to take us. How we are able to live depends on us. The classic case of Good V.s. Evil is at work, and working overtime.
No, because the battle has already been won, on the Cross. Those who have accepted Jesus as Savior and Lord, have no concern for eternity. Our destination is clear and sure. But, we can still do something about the place we live in. To wage war against evil while we still can.
This war must be wages by:
1. Prayer
2. Truth
3. The Gospel
Don't be blind! Don't be deceived! Don't fall for the party line. Don't play ball with evil. Do open your eyes. Do recognize honesty. Do search out truth. Do know the Lord is on our side.
And finally, why do today's Marxists/Socialists/Communists want our military decreased? If the people are to be wards of the state ( dependent upon the state) why not have a great military to insure power?
Because in the last days, Israel will be attacked by the great Nations to the North and East. (I am not an expert on Revelation) China and/or Russia for instance. If either or both were to attack now, while we still have our military might, we would not allow it, and certainly either prevent it, or rush to the defense of Israel.
End the end times this does not happen. Who rushes to Israel's defense is God Himself.
A last bit of something which I consider "unusual" and have no idea of what it means. Isn't it peculiar or ironic that if the MARK of the beast, or the ability for Satan to persuade people to accept the MARK of the beast, is ultimately brought about by a man named MARX?

Who or what is the "beast"?
Who is the "man with the number 666"?
Who is the "false prophet"?
Who is the "Antichrist"?
I don't know either. But we had better prepare ourselves as individuals and as nations to recognize him or them when he or they stand before our nations on television and persuade us to accept the MARK.
