“We are the reason … that Christ give His life”
GOD loves us so much. The scriptures say's, “For God loved the World so much that he gave his only begotten Son so that anyone who believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life”. God did not send his Son into the world to condemn us, but to save us.
For God sent Jesus Christ to take the punishment for our sins and to end all God's anger against us. He used Christ's blood and our faith as the means of saving us from his wrath. For the more we know of God's laws, the clearer it becomes that we aren't obeying them; his laws serve only to make us see that we are sinners. But God has shown us a different way to heaven - not by “being good enough” and trying to keep his laws, but by a new way. God say's he will accept and acquit us - declare us “not guilty” - if we trust Jesus Christ to take away our sins. And we all can be saved in this same way, by coming to Christ, no matter who are or what we have been like. Yes, all have sinned; all fall short of God's glorious ideal; yet, God declares us “not guilty” of offending him through Christ, who in his kindness freely takes away our sins.
Then what can we boast about doing, to earn salvation? Nothing at all. Because our acquittal is not based on our good deeds; it is based on what Jesus Christ has done and our faith in him. For being saved is a gift and God never asked anything to us to pay for that gift, because he so much loves us.
So now, since we have been made right in God's sight by faith in his promises, we can have the real peace with him because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us. For because of our faith, he has brought us into this place of highest privilege where we now stand, and we confidently and joyfully look forward to actually becoming all that God had in mind for us to be. For we know how dearly God loves us, and we feel this warm love everywhere within us because God has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.
